Manus raises more than $500 million in first round since Meta deal collapsed
Butterfly Effect, the parent of AI agent startup Manus, says it has raised more than $500 million led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital. It is the company's first raise since Meta's planned $2 billion acquisition was called off.

Butterfly Effect, the company behind the AI agent product Manus, said in a WeChat post on October 8 that it had raised more than $500 million, TechCrunch reported. Boyu Capital and IDG Capital led the round, with existing shareholders including Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund participating.
It is the company's first funding round since Meta was forced to abandon its $2 billion acquisition of the startup. According to TechCrunch, Chinese authorities ordered the deal unwound in April, and Manus resumed independent operations in August.
Manus did not disclose a valuation. TechCrunch notes the company was reported last month to be in talks to raise $500 million at a $4 billion valuation, and that it is reportedly considering a Hong Kong listing. The company says it will keep hiring in China and abroad.
